Meeting on Chinatown Jail Proposal Takes Place Tonight
Proposed jail at 80 Centre St.
This evening there will be a joint meeting of Community Boards 1 and 3 to discuss a controversial proposal to build a new city jail at 80 Centre St.
The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. at at the Municipal Building, 1 Centre St. (Mezzanine).
Here’s the Draft Scope of Work that has been prepared for the upcoming environmental assessments of detention center proposals in Manhattan, as well as locations in Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx.
