Bicyclist, 72, Dies in Morning Midtown Hit-And-Run: NYPD
A 72-year-old bicyclist struck in an early Monday morning hit-and-run in Midtown has died, police say.
According to the NYPD, the man was found unconscious on a lane around 5:53 a.m. at 8th Avenue and 45th Street. He was found next to a bike. Police believe he was struck by a vehicle.
The victim was transported to Bellevue Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, NYPD says.
The investigation is ongoing.
The victim has not been publicly identified pending family notification.
No additional information was available.
