Downed Power Line Sparks Gas Line Fire in New Jersey
A downed power line sparked a gas line fire in New Jersey, sending flames up onto the street, authorities said.
The fire broke out on Union Avenue in Union early Sunday morning.
One house nearby the fire was evacuated, but no one was hurt, authorities said.
Gas and electric crews cordoned off the road and were still working to put out the blaze as of around 7:30 a.m.
It wasn’t immediately clear what knocked down the power line.
