NYPD: School Bus Hits ‘Elderly’ Woman, Takes Off
Police are investigating an apparent hit-and-run in the Bronx involving a school bus they say hit a woman and took off Thursday morning.
The incident took place around 9:50 a.m. at the intersection Havemeyer and Story avenues in the Castle Hill section as the woman was crossing Story avenue, NYPD says.
The incident is being investigated as a hit-and-run.
Witnesses and police describe the victim as “elderly.” She was taken to Jacobi Medical Center in critical condition.
Images from the scene show clothes thrown about the street as officers try to piece together the details as they look into why that school bus took off.
Street closures are in place as the investigation is underway.
