Every once in a while, there’s an artist who changes the game. Recently, that person was electronic music virtuoso, San Holo. He blew us away with his production, ‘Light’, which has since be remixed and mashed up 100 times over by names like Nitti Gritti, Loosid, Sonny Fedora, Eastghost and the list goes on. Then last year he released his debut LP, ‘Album 1’ with a simple name that underplays the sheer musical genius that lies within its carefully curated playlist. ‘Lift Me From the Ground’ just may have been one of the best shoegazer edm tracks of 2018, with its gentle vocals and soaring synths. Emotional and provocative, each song speaks to San’s sensitive side, meanwhile showing off his talents as both a producer and instrumentalist.
