There are lots of amazing places to celebrate Halloween in New York this year. We mentioned that Brooklyn Bazaar is closing next month, so their Halloween Massacre is a good choice. There’s also lots of great cover bands and parties to check out.

What: ‘70s Disco Halloween Party
When: 8 pm on Thursday, October 31
Where: The Ledge, 321 Starr Street Floor 2, Bushwick

Head over to a favorite Bushwick haunt, The Ledge, for their ‘70s Disco Halloween Party! What: BangOn!NYC Presents Warehouse of Horrors
When: October 25th – 26th
Where: Knockdown Center, 52-19 Flushing Ave, Maspeth, NY

BangOn!NYC’s signature Halloween festival brings two full nights of music and mayhem to Ridgewood’s hottest hang. Friday is for bass lovers, when acts like San Holo, Ekali and The Glitch Mob bring heavy beats to the main room. Dirtybird Records label boss Claude VonStroke rules the roost on Saturday along with fellow housemates Justin Martin and Justin Jay. What: The Cityfox Halloween Festival
When: October 26th
Where: Avant Gardner, 140 Stewart Ave., Brooklyn, NY

Cityfox returns to Avant Gardner for another 12-hour immersive marathon. Catch a variety of house and techno acts across five stages, including singer/songwriter Monolink, All Day I Dream founder Lee Burridge and local DJ duo, Bedouin. Unmatched production and appearances from rare international acts like live manipulation maven Giorgia Anguili make this party a must see. More information

National Sawdust is one of the most unique rooms in the city and this show is about as Halloween as you can get, a screening of The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, a silent movie from 1920, accompanied by a live score followed by an afterparty. More information

I don’t know any of these bands, but hey, you put a Pixies tribute band (Grave of Mutiliation) on a bill and my ears might prick up, add a Superchunk tribute band (Superhunx) and I might do a double-take, then you throw in a Rush tribute band (Honeydew Diners) and you’ve got yourself a party. Kudos to anyone who turns up in a kimono. More information
